Sudan called on the Israeli government to stop all change measures against the Arab and religious identity and the legal status of the city of Jerusalem.

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement, on Saturday, condemning the recent attacks on unarmed Palestinians, the continuing attempts to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the violation of the right to freedom of worship.

The foreign ministry’s statement considered that this contradicts international legitimacy decisions.

The statement considered these measures come in parallel with the recent attacks on unarmed Palestinians by Israeli settlers in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.

It also called on the Israeli government to stop all unilateral steps that reduce the chances of resuming peace negotiations and undermine joint regional and international efforts to achieve peace, stability and security in the region.

The ministry renewed  Sudan’s firm stance towards the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

In particular, the right to self-determination of the Palestinian and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in accordance with the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions.
