The authorities of al-Gezira state decided to link non-vital government transactions to the issuance of a health insurance card.
On Tuesday, the Gezira state authorities announced the activation of a decision to link 38 transactions classified as non-vital to the issuance of a health insurance card.
The Director-General of the Ministry of Finance, Economy and Manpower in the state, Nadia Ahmed al-Tohamy, said in an event headed by Health Insurance that the decision aims to achieve comprehensive health coverage.
Al-Tohamy pledged to harness all of the ministry’s capabilities to implement the decision and sponsor it through the unified treasury.
A large number of Sudanese suffer from being left off the health insurance umbrella, which affects health and production levels in the country.
No reactions have yet been issued from the public regarding the decision, which may disrupt the completion of some of their transactions in some government departments.
