Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok described the signing of the political declaration for the unity of the ruling coalition – the FFC – as a historic event and a step in the right direction.
Hamdok said during his speech on Wednesday, at the signing ceremony of the political declaration for the unity of the Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC), that the Sudanese people achieved their aspirations through the October, April and December revolutions.
The Prime Minister called for the unification of all the forces of the “beating revolution”, in order to achieve the goals of the Sudanese people.
He considered that the FFC’s unification represents an antidote and a safety valve for the country, stressing the importance of making efforts to make the citizens happy.
Hamdok renewed his praise for what he described as the great model, based on partnership between civilians and military personnel.
The Prime Minister referred to the Sudanese people’s ability to overcome differences and disparities for the sake of the citizen.
“Difference for the sake of the homeland is an ideal… Sudan today inspires hope at the regional level,” Hamdok said.
In a related context, the head of the National Umma Party, and representative of the FFC, Fadlallah Nasir, said that signing the political declaration is the truest expression of the will of the alliance to face adversities.
In his speech, Nasir added that the challenges facing the transitional period are resolving the issues of transition, the formation of the Legislative Council, security and military reform, in addition to completing the structures and institutions of justice and transitional justice.
He stressed that the signing represents the strongest support for the transitional government and is a major turning point that cuts the way for the counter-revolution that aims to split the revolutionary ranks and spread the spirit of despair among the people.
Nasir pointed out that the door is open for all forces of the revolution to walk together to achieve the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
He also indicated that the signatories to this declaration seek to reduce the burdens resulting from the current economic conditions, pointing out that the coalition will complete the efforts to build real peace.
On the other hand, Nasir stressed that the task of dismantling the June 30 regime will remain a sacred task that cannot be retracted, nor compromised.
He noted that the Political Declaration Alliance will work to complete it entirely through legal means.
