Feltman issued his comments after he had concluded talks with both sovereignty council chairman Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok.

The US envoy, in a statement made on Thursday, implored all sides of the transitional government to avoid accusations and work on amicable solutions through unconditional talks.

The tension between the transitional government’s civilian and military components reached an all-time high when Prime Minister Hamdok refused Burhan’s request to dissolve the current government, as reported on Sudan Tribune.

The tensions boiled over after comments were made by both civilians and the military regarding the failed coup d’etat attempt that took place last month.

Al-Burhan and his vice president Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, leader of the RSF, pinned the blame on civilian politicians and accused them using their positions for personal gains

Feltman’s comments come at a time where a rally consisting of political parties and armed movements aligned with the military faction of the government has been planned for Saturday, 15th of October, in a speculated effort to change the structure of governance.
