Leader within ruling coalition calls for al-Burhan’s resignation

Ibrahim al-Sheikh, the Minister of Industry and a member of Sudan’s ruling coalition, the Freedom Forces Coalition, accused Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the chairman of the sovereignty council in Sudan, of being responsible for the country’s entire crisis.

Ibrahim al-Sheikh, the Minister of Industry in Sudan, demanded the Sudanese army to name al-Burhan’s successor in the sovereignty council during an interview with al-Jazeera.

Al-Sheikh even threatened a siege against the Republican Palace in the event al-Burhan and the military component within the country’s transitional authority fail to deliver power to the authority’s other half, the civilians.

“Al-Burhan closed down the ports to force people into taking to the streets demanding him announced his government takeover,” al-Sheikh said.

The FFC member assured that the revolution was safe as long as it was protected and being safeguarded by the Sudanese public.

Hundreds and thousands of Sudanese took to the streets on Thursday, the 21st of October, in response to a request made by the revolutionary forces in the country calling for the safeguarding of the country’s democratic civilian transition.

The protestors’ chants condemned the military component’s attempts at stifling the democratic transition in the country and controlling the country’s resources.
