Biden announced that he was going to monitor the situation in Ukraine from the White House and will receive regular updates from two security teams, and that he will meet today with his counterparts from the Group of Seven.
US President Joe Biden said that his country, its allies, and partners, will respond to the Russian attack on Ukraine in a united and decisive manner.
Biden announced in a press release Wednesday evening that he will be personally monitoring the situation from the White House and will receive regular updates from his two security teams.
“Only Russia is responsible for the death and destruction this attack will cause, and the United States and its allies and partners will respond in a united and decisive manner,” the statement said.
Biden considered that Russian President Vladimir Putin had chosen war with premeditation, which would lead to heavy loss of life and enormous human suffering.
According to the statement, Biden will also meet with his counterparts in the Group of Seven and then announce the additional sanctions that the United States and our allies and our partners will impose on Russia before the American public.
He stated that these measures are in response to the needless act of aggression against Ukraine and world peace and security.
“We will also coordinate with our allies in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to ensure a strong and unified response that deters any aggression against the alliance.”
