Boy injured during March 17th demonstrations dies

The Sudan Doctors Committee announced that a 13 year old boy, who was injured during the March 17th demonstrations, had died due to a sustained gunshot wound to the head.

The Sudan Doctors Committee, a non governmental body,  announced that Ahmad Maqam al-Din, a 13 year old boy who was injured during the March 17th demonstrations, had died due to his injury.

The committee said that Maqam al-Din had died after having suffered for “many nights at the hospital  after having sustained a gunshot injury during the March 17th processions.”

“With this, the total number of minors killed rises to (14) and the overall number of people killed by the coup authorities [since the army takeover on October 25th] in Sudan to (88),” the statement added.

Protests against the military takeover of October 25th of last year – led by army general Abdel Fattah al-Burhan – continue in Sudan, with a mass protest announced for today.
