Khartoum: AlTaghyeer

A statement by the emergency lawyers confirmed today, Friday, that the coup forces arrested on Thursday a number of young students who were sitting for the basic stage exams while returning from revision classes.

The statement clarified that the arrest came under the direction of the Public Prosecutor and the Chief Prosecutor of Khartoum, who are members of the security committee.

The lawyers’ statement said that the orders handed to the department officer by the aforementioned two decreed not to release the students unless they agree to it.

The Emergency lawyers pointed out that “this act entrenches the lawless state and deprives these students from taking their exams, spelling the loss of their future and the effort of their families.”

The statement called on the Public Prosecutor to intervene immediately and release all detainees, especially students.
