UAE based ports operator Abu Dhabi Ports has denied inking any sort of agreement in the $6 billion DAL Group joint-project.
Abu Dhabi ports denied in a statement submitted to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange that it “has not signed any agreements in relation to a joint project to build a port in Sudan.”
The company’s statement clarified however that it was in preliminary discussions with the concerned authorities in Sudan.
AD Ports confirmed that it will disclose to the market if any new project and investment were approved in accordance with the applicable regulations.
Reuters had ran a news piece in which it quoted the owner of DAL Group in Sudan, Osama Daoud Abdullatif, on Monday, announcing that the UAE will build a new port on the Red Sea, in partnership with DAL, as part of a project package worth $6 billion.
